Ivan is a 36-year-old crippled war veteran with little to live for, and after learning of a dark family secret he loses what little sanity he had. His father Izidor was a political prisoner in the former Yugoslavia, and is now running for Croatian parliament . When a ghost from the country’s communist past reappears in the form of Šimo, a Serb and ex-communist official, tragedy strikes the family, pushing Ivan over the edge. The narrative is darkly complex, as the political intertwines with the private, leaving behind a trail of destruction, pain and confusion.
